TRANSPARENT: THE ART OF THE TRANS FIGURE

TRANSPARENT is an ongoing series which studies the trans(gender) figure using bold, yet fluid black strokes to create an outline of the trans figure. The transparent figures take on the colors, themes, and elements of their environment while keeping their shape intact, simultaneously imprinting itself on the world around it. 

As the U.S. continues to attack transgender rights and liberties, to vilify the transgender figure and the person within, now more than ever it is important to explore what it means to exist within the scope of transgender, gender-fluid, non-binary, or other self-identifying terms which renounce gender conformity and gender norms. It is important to continue creating, living, thriving, thereby expressing our resistance through our existence.
